Hmmm.I guess now I know why the PO traded the car in. The DTC warning light description referred me to page 81, which was about the DTC system in general.
The lights now come on immediately after starting the car - I can hear the faint hum of a DTC test every ten seconds or so in the upper-left part of the dash (likely the pump engaging).Īnyway, I knew what the lights meant, but pulled out the manual just to verify. Just out of the driveway the dash lit up with the yellow brake warning light and the yellow DTC malfunction warning light (just one shy of the dreaded trifecta). This morning I discovered a new item to add to the used car inspection checklist - the owners manual. I'm combining two separate but related issues into one thread, which I may end up regretting. TLDR2: Looking for best diag/code tool for my E82 N55 that will also work for my E90 N54. TLDR1: Need to diagnose a DTC malfunction
