Leela will (just play leela esay mode, even I (a patzer) could challenge her) But on a quad-SLI it might be a threat, even for the best classic, alpha/beta search engines Even if you let 100ms SF3 play on a raspi, it wont play a patzer blunder. I think leela is really hardware dependent, even more than classic engines. Lol analysing Leela-SF1 with SF dev looks like a constant facepalm
If we don't destroy ourselves until then. Ok, probably not me but in the future people might be able to. I can't play 1 million games but maybe(maybe I am overly optimistic) I will be able to play 1 million games in my head in the future. But just playing games doesn't always help unless you study them as well? I don't know. I wonder what I would become if I could play 1 million games. It's something I will keep an eye on watching leela improve is fun. Maybe it is a safe bet that improvements will be found that will make this approach better in the future. Unless of course improvements are found so that it learns better. leela is like reproducing alphazero right? Then it will be hard to become stronger than sf this way. Maybe use the neural-nets to create strong opening books and the engine to play the rest. What I don't understand is why a mixed approach isn't used. Right now this neural net approach (alpahzero included) doesn't make for stronger chess engines. Isn't stockfish 1 stronger than carlsen on tcec hardware? Or scorpio or leela? If not then a match would be fun.
